Exploring the contrast between functionality and urban disarray in cities, this project draws inspiration from the seemingly mundane aspects of urban life, such as industrial rope knotting techniques, shutters and stacks of furniture on a street side. I explored how urban materials are re-adapted and altered to serve a new use. Following this methodology, and employing a material-led approach to design, I worked with industrial materials, repurposed from factory offcuts. Rope, foam and wood were key materials in the process.
